As you head out of Hathersage on the B6001 and take a left on to the B6521 you will pass the Grindleford Cafe on your left (at the station). This is a good place for some food followed by climbing at Yarncliffe Quarry, a bit further on, and on your right.

Bamford Edge can be accessed from a minor road opposite the Yorkshire Bridge public house. The access situation is described as delicate, so Mr Darwent (the keeper) should be contacted on 01433 51458 for permission to climb. This is unlikely to be granted during the grouse shooting season.
